About SNOPRO

Snopro was started by Mark

Mark started mountain guide training in the USA and now lives in Chamonix, France with his wife, daughter and two dogs.

He has completed the highest professional avalanche training in the USA (AAI, level 3) and is also a Wilderness First Responder.

He is an aspirant ski guide on his way to full IFMGA certification.

In 2016, Mark invented avalanche heat maps: The projections of the daily avalanche bulletin on topographic maps. This allows users to quickly assess through what danger levels they might travel on a given itinerary. Since then, this method has been copied by many renown avalanche research institutions.
